Rimmel London; 60 Second Nail Polish

Shade: 270 'Shocker' - Every bit as bright as it looks
60 Second Nail Polish by Rimmel London

For once, a nail polish that works within the time it promises to. Hallelujah, I hear you all cry. Don't get too excited...

Rimmel's 60 Seconds is a cheap and cheerful nail polish that delivers results swiftly. It requires only 2 coats for maximum effect and actually does dry in 1 minute [per coat].  The 60 Second range has around 25 different shades to choose from, including clear, though you'll be spoilt for choice with their vast array of pinks and reds .  It comes across as a thoroughly girly product, with some shades that can only be meant for teenagers if their neon finish is anything to go by. Vibrancy really isn't lacking here.

Whilst this nail polish never claims to be chip resistant, that doesn't stop it from being a touch disappointing when after only 6 hours you find that it's already flaking away. While the colour is intense and the application quick and simple, it's poor resistance is something of a let down. A quick fix to this is applying a layer of clear polish over the top but it's not ideal; anymore than 2 coats and it begins to take longer to dry. Beginning to see the problem?

Overall, I'd say Rimmel's 60 Seconds is great for nights out and one off wears, but if you're looking for a product that's going to last you more than a day or two - go elsewhere. The colours are fun and it's easy to remove when you've done with it, but there's a seriousness lacking to this nail polish. It's Rimmel's version of the one night stand, if you will.

This product retails at around £4; it can be found at Rimmel or most high street drugstores.
As you can see, it's not a shade for the faint hearted...
